Love Story

AOKO THE VILLAGE DAMSEL.🥰

Story by ore isaiah…..

The village’s name was the talk among the men who were looking after the large herd of cattle in the grazing field. Yongo was the name ,a village that was admired by men , the famous Osingo marowa who was a renown grass roof thatcher couldn’t hesitate to enjoy the beauties of this village. Osingo said he was lucky for having to spend some couple of years doing his grass thatching famed activity in this village. I guess Marowa at one point met Aoko the “village damsel” as the boys nicknamed her. I will surely confirm it from osingo Marowa so that he can give me his own assessment about Aoko.

Aoko, a slim girl with a plaited hair, a true village belle came from a distance balancing the pot of water on her head with accustomed ease. Around her was wrapped the familiar broad cloth which she folded above her breast leaving her shoulders bare. Every village boy within and outside the village yearned to win Aoko’s heart.

“Ooh Aoko,Vow to me your own udying love and I will scorn the jibes of these bush minds and other girls who think they knows me better. Swear Aoko , swear you will be my wife and I will stand against earth, heaven and the nine hells”, I poured out my heart to convince this village belle and I thought I had nailed it. Aoko threw a killing smile looking straight into my eyes . I kept looking at her beautiful neck with natural bracelets and I surely couldn’t regret being a resident of this beautiful village that through the existence of Aoko became even a more better place for youthful men like me.

Joel Amindo ,Aoko’s father was a no joke man. I was in attendance the very day when Joshua the self proclaimed born-town boy was being reprimanded for trying to engage Aoko the only daughter to Mzee Joel Amindo in love issues. Mzee Joel Amindo a retired army officer who worked under the reign of president moi inflicted fear in village boys . Trying to stop Aoko along the way looked like throwing a stone to a beehive.

Joshua the born-town boy was writhing in pain as Aoko’s father continued to whip him while stepping on his ribs . I was shouting from a distance and I saw the incidence at first hand. From the disciplinary or death scene as others called it, I saw Joshua holding the side of his hip in pain as blood trickled between his fingers.

Where could I plan to meet Aoko ?. She didn’t have a phone her father had seized the first one I purchased her. We had no other option but to pick the two market days as the opportunity to again have a second chat with this lady………

Healthy Weeknight Meals

Cooking can sometimes feel like a chore at the end of a busy day. It’s often tempting to throw a ready meal in the oven or call for take out. But preparing a simple and healthy family meal doesn’t have to be hard or time-consuming. Here are some quick wholesome dishes that you and your family will love. They can even be prepared in advance.

Breakfast at my House

During the week we’re often walking out the door with a coffee in one hand and slice of toast in the other, but on weekends breakfast is never rushed. It’s a late affair, sometimes spilling over to lunch, with lots of reading and chatter in between courses of fruits, poached eggs, honey and toast. One of our favorite things we like to serve when friends are visiting are buckwheat blueberry pancakes.
